About Me
Deanna Schallau
ISSA Certified Running Coach
As a runner of nearly a decade, I’ve seen firsthand how prioritizing my physical well-being translated into motivation, confidence, and connection to self in other aspects of my life.
I played soccer from five years old to eighteen years old and started running recreationally in college. I ran my first half marathon in 2017 with my best friend, starting training off with a very challenging one mile run around the neighborhood. As I built mileage towards 13.1 miles, I fell in love with the process of training and realized that running filled a gap that soccer had once filled.
Since that first half marathon, I’ve learned that what I loved so much about running was the running journey itself— setting a goal that felt nearly impossible and taking small steps every day to reach it. By doing so, I was instilling in myself that my thoughts dictate my actions which, with consistency and dedication, can take me wherever I want to go, both as a runner and in life.
Running helps me to connect to my inner self and show up authentically and empowered in my life. And I’m excited to help you, no matter where you are at in your running journey, harness the power of running for your own physical and personal growth!
